The recent development of a Facial recognition system named Facedeals
checks you in to your facebook page and sends you deals.
An advertising agency in Nashville called Redpepper has created a check in system called Facedeals. It’s basically a camera that uses facial recognition to check you into locations as well as providing targeted advertising.
This technology was shown in use in the movie The Minority Report, the movie highlighted how prevalent this type of advertising will be in the future.
Checking in on Facebook isn’t a must for all, but Redpepper hopes to remedy that by sending you personalized deals, based on your location. These recommendations will be delivered to your smartphone after you check in. It doesn’t just send you any old deals either, it uses your Likes on Facebook to work out what discounts and offers would appeal to you most.
